We've spent a decade trying to give developers "autonomy" by handing them a drawer full of sharp knives: complex CLIs, endless YAML, and direct access to infrastructure. Predictably, everyone is bleeding. Somehow "Self-Service," turned into "Self-Harm."
Platform teams usually respond by locking the drawer and becoming the "Department of No." But what if we replaced the knives with a conversation?
This session explores "Vibe-Driven Platform Engineering." I'll walk through an experiment testing whether a minimal AI chat interface can handle the four horsemen of enterprise friction: deploying an app, configuring a service, diagnosing a failure, and compliance and security .
Instead of config, can a developer use chat to deploy their app?
We'll find out if "vibe deploying" is the future of the Internal Developer Platform, or just a very expensive way to let a chatbot hallucinate your production environment.
