Every dev team you have is shipping AI features. Most are doing it three different ways, with no audit trail, and your platform team hasn't been asked. After two years of watching enterprises figure this out the expensive way, I'll show four pieces you need: a model broker, an MCP gateway, an agent runtime, and a journal of every prompt and response. Takeaway: the gateway always goes first. The model is rarely your real problem.
